"Central Virginia Business Directory Goes Online"

Lynchburg, VA...The Central Virginia Business Directory is a comprehensive list of over 7,000 companies located in Central Virginia. It is accessible on the Internet at www.centralvirginia.net.

The directory was created and developed by Nancy Saltz, CPA and Barbara Hensley, principals in Accounting and Computer Enterprises, Inc. Their extensive business experience allows them to relate to the needs of the companies in Central Virginia. "The goal of the Directory is to reduce much of the Internet’s confusion by organizing our region’s resources into one place. We want to contribute to a sense of community on the Internet, within Central Virginia, that will increase the attractiveness of our region for future economic development."

Businesses are listed alphabetically, as well as by product or service category. If the business has a company website on the Internet, a link is provided from the listing to the site for a small one time set-up fee. The service is free to every business with a telephone number within the Central Virginia area, including Lynchburg and Bedford cities, and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell.

The Business Directory also features information of general interest, such as area calendars of events, tourist information, links to children’s programming on the Internet, contests, and special promotions.
